On October 20th, NGinfra had the first online matchmaking in the second call of their joint research program with NWO: Responsive Futures. The call looks at the modelling and governance for future decision-making on the further development of infrastructures, to ensure more integrated solutions, responsive to the changing needs of society. In total 27 researchers presented their first idea on this topic as a starting point of consortium forming with the six partners of NGinfra: Alliander, PortofRotterdam ProRail, RIjkswaterstaat, SchipholGroep, and Vitens, and possibly other infrastructure managers in the future.

Also, Movici was introduced as the platform for the coupling of sector specific and spatial models. This NGinfra facility could allow the researchers to bring their own models to the table and develop analytical tools for real system-of-systems solutions.

The 27 pitches all showed highly relevant and varied contributions regarding the future development of integrated infrastructure solutions and proved an excellent basis for the speed dates on that day. The matchmaking promises to be a great start for the development of consortia and full proposals towards a second matchmaking in December and full proposal in January 2021.

If you want to now more about the call please contact NWO or NGinfra.
